The ambition of Regional Culinary Heritage is to, in an easy way, offer regionally produced raw
materials
of high quality to you, as a consumer. The choosen restaurants,
farms and foodproducers all point out the regional connection. And quality is
their leading star. The aim of Regional Culinary Heritage is to offer an experience
that will taste and scent more.
To be a member of Regional Culinary Heritage, the companys have to fullfill
certain criterias.
Everything
that i sold, have to be produced locally, or most of the product must come from locally produced foods. The products must also contribute to a positive image of
Öland.
In 1995, the Culinary Heritage concept was introduced in South east of Skåne, Sweden and on the Danish island of Bornholm. The project grew
fast and got a lot of attention from local businesses and authorities in the south of
Sweden. Other regions have successively joined the network and today You find
the network of Regional Culinary Heritage all over Europe.
In the year of 2000 the
Royal Summer Castle Solliden, with the Coffee Cottage, became a member of
Regional Culinary Heritage Öland.
The Coffee cottage offers hot
dishes, sandwiches, Danish smorrebrod, beer and wine and for those who
wishes a homespiced "Sollidensnaps". There is also a small
shop where you can buy products cultivated on Solliden.
